We are pleased to announce that Matthew W. Allen, PE – Fire Protection Engineer, of Tulsa’s MPW Engineering, has been promoted to Associate Principal, a leadership and ownership position within the firm. In his new role, Allen will be taking a larger management role with several key accounts. He will also focus on business development in the governmental, senior living, and retail sectors. Additionally, Allen will continue to manage and expand the fire protection team and its capabilities.
MPW Engineering is excited about the next generation of firm leaders. The firm is also pleased to have a Fire Protection Engineer as a shareholder for the first time.
A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Allen joined MPW Engineering in 2012 where he gained experience in design, site surveys, water flow tests, and construction site observations. He has impacted hundreds of projects across the United States in a variety of industries including large retail, office buildings, high-rise apartment buildings, and senior living. Allen draws on his expertise to address modern engineering challenges.
In October 2018 Allen successfully passed the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam, becoming a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Oklahoma. He was also the first MPW Engineering staff member to become licensed in the discipline of Fire Protection Engineering.
Scott Webb, one of the MPW’s Principals, believes Allen’s new role opens the door to new possibilities for the firm. “Matt will make it possible to grow the company both in our technical capabilities and with the range of clients that we are able to serve,” Webb said. “He will do a fantastic job. Congratulations and well-deserved, Matt!”
